Structured around an informal plan with a central outdoor courtyard, this home features generous covered transition areas between inside & the outdoors: providing shelter, shade and that private sunny spot for some personal time. This house has been designed for “doors open” living in a classic, relaxed, kiwi beach setting.
The external form and selected materials reference traditional coastal structures: corrugated metal boat sheds, and self-built baches, while providing a durable, hardy outer shell protecting against the coastal winds.
