Congratulations to William Mason on being shortlisted as an NZGBC Future Thinker Finalist 2026!
Held in Tāmaki Makaurau on Tuesday evening as part of the Green Property Summit 2026, the New Zealand Green Building Council Awards celebrated the young leaders, researchers, and innovators driving meaningful change across Aotearoa New Zealand's property and construction sectors.
William co-founded the Bio-based Building Network (BBBN), advocating for bio-based and natural building materials in Aotearoa, and has written publicly on natural material construction for Newsroom and spoken at the NZIA Natural Materials Seminar. His work bridges technical construction knowledge with a push for regenerative, low-toxicity, locally produced materials, grounded in kaitiakitanga and local economic benefit. This combination of hands-on industry experience, research, and advocacy led to his selection as a finalist for the NZGBC Future Thinker of the Year 2026 award.
William is a valued member of the MHA team, and his contribution to a range of projects has been significant. We are delighted to support his broader interests in the industry and the wider profession.
