Extending this busy Wellington practice's rooms in a heritage building, while maintaining the ongoing business throughout the process, required good planning and careful management. As a repeat client, Angela knew we had the skills and the experience to do just that.
Located in the 1930’s Category II listed Dominion Building, McKenzie Higham Architects had designed the original surgery in 2003. The new design doubled the original capacity to 6 practice rooms plus ancillary spaces. The expansion and interior refresh needed to respect the building’s existing design components and balance the requirement for effective functional space with a comfortable environment for both staff and patients.
In the extended practice the consulting rooms are ergonomically efficient, allowing dental staff easy access to all of the required specialist equipment and technology; the waiting area is calm and pleasant, creating a relaxing and consciously low key welcome for patients.
